IBT Securities Co., Ltd. (IBTS)

The predecessor of IBT Securities Co., Ltd. (IBTS), Sheng Ho Securities, was founded in 1961. It was one of the earliest securities houses in Taiwan. In June 2000, the Industrial Bank of Taiwan (IBT) obtained about 80% stake in Sheng Ho and renamed it as IBT Securities Co., Ltd. Afterwards, the bank continued to purchase minority shares and increased our holding up to 91.44%.

The new management of IBTS adopted'cross selling'strategy to capitalize on IBT's strength in corporate banking and reduced its heavy dependence on brokerage income. There are currently seven business divisions in IBTS: brokerage, institutional sales, fixed income, internet trading, underwriting, futures, proprietary trading and research.

IBT Investment Consultant Co., Ltd.

IBTS Investment Consultation Co., Ltd (IBTSIC), formerly Sheng Ho Investment Consultation, was founded in April 1998. with its former parent company, Sheng Ho Securities Co., Ltd., IBTSIC was integrated into the Industrial Bank of Taiwan (IBT) Group in June 2000 when IBT obtained a majority stake in Sheng Ho Securities. IBTSIC provides in-depth and professional investment research reports to institutional and individual investors. It also engages in discretionary trading services.

After becoming a member of the IBT Group, the company endeavored to recruit elite professionals with industrial and banking backgrounds. Through effective integration of resources within the Group and working closely with investment professionals and analysts at the IBT for studying worldwide economic and market trends and visiting high tech companies, the company was thus able to assure the timeliness and accuracy of information collected.

IBT Asset Management Co., Ltd.

The predecessor of IBT Asset Management Co., Ltd., Ta Chong Investment Trust Corp., was co-founded by Ta Chong Commercial Bank, Sanwa Bank (Japan) and other famous financial institutions in August 1997. In February 1998, it completed raising its first equity fund - Ta Chong Fund. In November 2001, the Industrial Bank of Taiwan obtained more than 50% stake in Ta Chong and introduced a new management team to conduct company reorganization and enhance operating efficiency. In November 2006, Ta Chong merged with Sheng Hua Investment Trust. The combined entity was named as IBT Asset Management Co., Ltd., total dollar amount of public funds under management reached NT$60 billion. The improved market share and growing competitiveness marked a good beginning for the Industrial Bank of Taiwan Group to enter into the asset management industry.

IBT Management Corp. (IBTM)

Founded in July 2000, IBT Management Corp. (IBTM) is a 100% owned subsidiary of Industrial Bank of Taiwan. IBTM engages in raising and managing venture capital and private equity funds. Its mission is to maximize investment returns and shareholder value. IBTM has a strong management team comprising industrial experts, technological talents and experienced venture capitalists. Investment focus is on high tech and biotech industries with good growth potential.

Three funds that are currently under IBTM management are IBT Venture Co., Ltd., IBT II Venture Co., Ltd. and Boston Life Science Venture Corp.

IBT Venture Co., Ltd.

IBT Venture Co., Ltd. was raised in 2000, investing mostly in high tech industries such as semiconductors, communication, information and opto-electronics etc. Total fund size amounted to NT$ 2 billion. Overall, the fund invested in 70 companies, 40 of which are currently listed in the stock exchange. The fund has realized some gains from part of its portfolio companies.

Boston Life Science Venture Corp.

Boston Life Science Venture Corp. was raised in 2003 with an investment focus on biotech and life science industries. Total fund size reached NT$ 2 billion. The fund has invested in 20 companies, 80% of which are companies located in the U.S. and Europe and 20% are companies in Taiwan. The portfolio companies engage in new drug development, drug test and manufacturing, healthcare products, medical equipment etc. Lately, the fund expanded its investments into the emerging industries such as agriculture biotech, biotech energy, biotech material and integrated digital treatment and service. The fund has disposed some of its investments with decent returns.

IBT II Venture Co., Ltd.

IBT II Venture Capital Co., Ltd (the "IBTVC II") sets up and operates from January 2008 with registered capital of NT$1.2 billions. The goal is to integrate the resources of IBT stakeholders and Taiwanese investors and as a result to be benefit from the global business plans. IBTVC II positions herself in emerging markets in both Asia (including Vietnam, Greater China etc.) and North American (65%) as well as Taiwan (35%).. The focused investment targets of IBTVC II covers on broad IT industries, Infrastructure and transitional sectors and green energy industries etc.

China Bills Finance Corp.

China Bills Finance Corp. (CBF) was established in October 1978, and was later listed at the Taiwan Stock Exchange in October 1994. It was one of the top three bills finance companies in Taiwan.

In January 2006, IBT obtained 20% equity ownership in CBF and became its largest shareholder. Afterwards, the bank continued to purchase minority shares and increased our holding up to 28.37%. As CBF's business was complementary to that of IBT, the two cooperate in the form of strategic alliance to elevate competitiveness of both entities in a win-win context.

IBT Education Foundation

Established in 2000 with the donation of NT$ 30 million from the IBT, the foundation puts great emphasis on "Learning, Innovation, and Technology" in its activities. Integrating resources of private and public sectors, promoting industrial/academic cooperation, and organizing technology seminars/management workshops, the foundation intends to immerse the young generation with new concepts and visions so as to nurture new generation entrepreneurs and technology talents. Thus, the goal of converting Taiwan into a ‘Technology Island’ can be achieved going forward.
